Where is St. Peter in Barbados?
St. Peter is on the charming and picturesque northwest coast. The beautiful St. Peter coastline, with its stunning beaches, idyllic sea, champagne sailing conditions, quaint fishing villages, and rich heritage, has long been valued by discerning visitors as a holiday retreat of choice. It is here that the authentic spirit and style of Barbados thrives. Neighboring historic Speightstown is also a quaint fishing village that provides the island with fresh fish daily.
Do I need special connections for electronic devices while staying at Elysium?
Electrical power is the same as in the US and Canada 110V – for European visitors you can bring power adapters/converters however the house is equipped with dual voltage for your convenience.
Is the water safe to drink ?
Yes it definitely is and filtered water is also available from the refrigerator.
Where can you buy groceries?
There are several small convenience & liquor stores as well as larger supermarket chains in nearby Speightstown & Holetown. Our staff can arrange for fresh fish and seafood from local vendors. Ten minutes from Elysium is Massy, a large modern supermarket as well as other various markets offering traditional Bajan foods along with arts, crafts and lots of souvenirs. We can also arrange to have the villa pre-stocked upon arrival and groceries can be delivered throughout your stay.
What should I pack ?
Resort wear, personal and music. A selection of books and magazines are available at Elysium, and there is piped music to all outdoor areas so please feel free to bring along your favourites! All linen, shampoo and shower gel are provided art the villa.
Does my cell phone work – does the house have wireless internet ?
Check with your provider for a plan suitable for your needs while out of the country. For local calls, two smart phones are provided and pre-programmed with local restaurants and the number of the Villa,your Property Manager and Personal Concierge. Barbados has a 4G network and Elysium has complimentary wireless internet and cable to download and/or watch your favorite shows & movies.
How can I pay for local services ?
Please check with your credit card companies. Let them know you will be using your card out of the country and which country. Several restaurants on the beach take credit cards however cash is preferred at the more casual places. Prices are quoted in Barbados dollars (BDS$). You can pay in US dollars, though you'll be given change in Barbados dollars. The exchange rate is fixed at BDS$1.98 to US$1. ATMs - which are commonplace - issue Barbados dollars.
What about the Villa Staff?
The villa is fully staff with two housekeepers and a Chef 6 days a week. Your chef will prepare two delicious consecutive meals and is happy to take special requests and prepare meals for specific dietary needs. Don't forget to mention special occasions. Our mission is to pamper!
What activities are available – where can I find information ?
